Mushroom coffee specs, side by side

By Brewlune · Updated August 27, 2026

The best mushroom coffee to buy comes down to two checkable specs: how much caffeine a serving actually carries, and whether the label tells you what is inside it. This page puts those numbers side by side — Brewlune's four blends against Four Sigmatic, RYZE, and Everyday Dose, with every competitor figure taken from that brand's own published pages.

Caffeine in this set runs from 0mg added (Brewlune Last Light) to 95mg (Brewlune Point Break), with RYZE around 48mg, Four Sigmatic instants at 50mg, and Everyday Dose at 45mg mild or 90mg medium roast. Extract type matters because fruiting-body extracts are the part of the mushroom with the measurable beta-glucan content; two of the three competitors state fruiting body, one does not say.

The table, per serving

Brewlune figures come from the same formulation data printed on the bags. Competitor figures come from each brand's own pages, linked per row; where a page doesn't state a spec, the cell says so.

Questions people actually ask

+Which mushroom coffee has the most caffeine per serving?

Among the products compared here, Brewlune Point Break has the highest disclosed caffeine at 95mg per serving. Everyday Dose medium roast states 90mg, RYZE dark roast 80–90mg, Four Sigmatic instants 50mg, RYZE medium roast about 48mg, Brewlune Dawn Patrol 48mg, Everyday Dose mild 45mg, Brewlune Glassy 40mg, and Brewlune Last Light adds none.

+How does Brewlune's caffeine compare to Four Sigmatic's?

Four Sigmatic states 50mg per serving for its instant coffees and about 75–190mg for its ground coffees, per its own help center. Brewlune prints a fixed figure on each blend: 0mg added (Last Light), 40mg (Glassy), 48mg (Dawn Patrol), and 95mg (Point Break) — four levels instead of one, chosen at the shelf.

+Does RYZE say whether its mushrooms are fruiting body or mycelium?

Not on the page we checked. RYZE names its six-species Super6 blend and states about 48mg of caffeine, but neither “fruiting body” nor “mycelium” appears there. Four Sigmatic and Everyday Dose both state fruiting-body extracts; Brewlune's four blends are fruiting-body only, with the supplier named on the sourcing page.

+How many mushroom species does each brand use?

RYZE uses six species; Brewlune Dawn Patrol and Point Break use four; Four Sigmatic Focus, Everyday Dose, and Brewlune's Glassy and Last Light use two. Species count says nothing about dose — of the brands here, only Brewlune prints the milligrams of each species per serving.

+Is more mushroom species better?

Not by itself. Six species in an undisclosed blend can carry less of any one mushroom than two species at printed doses. The checkable numbers are milligrams per species and beta-glucan content — the measurable fraction of an extract — which is what the dosage comparison and lab testing pages document blend by blend.

Per-species doses for every Brewlune blend live on the dosage comparison page, the testing program on the lab testing page, and the transparency-attribute comparison — per-species printing, beta-glucan disclosure, COAs — on the compare page.
