How it's made

Fruiting body, never mycelium on grain
Mycelium is the root network, and it's usually grown on grain and sold with the grain still in it. It's cheaper per kilogram, and it isn't what the published research is about. Every mushroom in every Brewlune blend is a fruiting-body extract — hot-water extracted, and dual-extracted for reishi, whose triterpenes need alcohol to come out.

No proprietary blends
A proprietary blend is a legal way to print one number instead of four. A bag can say “2,000mg mushroom blend” and never tell you whether that's 1,900mg of one thing and a pinch of the rest. We print every species and every milligram separately. Dawn Patrol's add to 1,500mg — and you can see exactly where all 1,500 go.

Matcha carries its own character, so this blend keeps only the two extracts that pull in the same direction. A shorter placard, printed just as large.

Yes — Glassy is a mushroom matcha, not a coffee. The base is ceremonial-grade matcha carrying 40mg of caffeine, blended with 500mg of lion's mane and 400mg of cordyceps militaris per serving, both fruiting-body extracts. Every one of those numbers is printed on the front of the bag, same as on every Brewlune blend.
+What's a good mushroom coffee alternative if I don't like coffee?
A matcha- or cacao-based blend. Brewlune makes one of each: Glassy is the mushroom matcha — grassy, a little savory, 40mg caffeine with lion's mane and cordyceps at printed doses — and Last Light is the evening cacao with no added caffeine. The choice is flavor and time of day; neither tastes like coffee, because neither is.

Glassy carries 40mg per serving, all of it from the matcha itself — matcha's caffeine rides with the leaf, so the figure is printed on the bag like every other dose. For scale, coffee-based mushroom blends in our comparison run 45–95mg per serving, and a standard cup of drip coffee is around 95mg.

No. Each blend tastes like a smooth, slightly earthy version of its base — coffee, matcha, or cacao — with the extracts as a background note, not the flavor. It is not indistinguishable from a good pour-over, and we're not going to tell you it is. No sweeteners, so it tastes like what it is.
