How it's made

Fruiting body, never mycelium on grain
Mycelium is the root network, and it's usually grown on grain and sold with the grain still in it. It's cheaper per kilogram, and it isn't what the published research is about. Every mushroom in every Brewlune blend is a fruiting-body extract — hot-water extracted, and dual-extracted for reishi, whose triterpenes need alcohol to come out.

No proprietary blends
A proprietary blend is a legal way to print one number instead of four. A bag can say “2,000mg mushroom blend” and never tell you whether that's 1,900mg of one thing and a pinch of the rest. We print every species and every milligram separately. Dawn Patrol's add to 1,500mg — and you can see exactly where all 1,500 go.

Dawn Patrol is built for exactly that brief: 48mg of caffeine from arabica — about half a cup — with 1,500mg of fruiting-body mushroom extract per serving, including 500mg of lion's mane, the species most associated with focus in the early research. It supports focus without the full-cup caffeine load, and every number is printed on the front of the bag.
+What's the best low caffeine coffee for someone trying to cut back?
Pick the rung of the ladder you can live with. +Does it taste like mushrooms?
No. Each blend tastes like a smooth, slightly earthy version of its base — coffee, matcha, or cacao — with the extracts as a background note, not the flavor. It is not indistinguishable from a good pour-over, and we're not going to tell you it is. No sweeteners, so it tastes like what it is.
